Best Logistics Exhibitions for Freight Forwarders

Logistics is still a people business. This guide covers the logistics exhibitions worth attending for freight forwarders and customs teams, what each one is best for, and how to get real value from a visit.

Summer is over, inboxes are full again, calendars are filling up, and the logistics industry is getting back to business. And with everyone returning to their desks comes another familiar part of the logistics calendar: exhibition season.

No matter how digital our industry becomes, logistics is still very much a people business.

Artificial intelligence, automation, and digital platforms are fundamentally changing how we work. But logistics still runs on trust, operational coordination, and strong relationships. Sometimes, a face-to-face conversation can achieve more than months of emails and online meetings.

That is why logistics exhibitions are much more than places to rent a stand, hand out brochures, and collect business cards. The right events are opportunities to find new partners and customers, explore new markets, discover technologies, and understand where the industry is heading.

With exhibition season getting underway again, we have put together a list of the most important logistics exhibitions and freight forwarding events around the world.

Why Is Attending Events Important When Everything Has Gone Online?

From the outside, a logistics trade show may look like little more than networking and exchanging business cards. In reality, a well-planned exhibition strategy can help companies win customers, build agency networks, explore new markets, and develop stronger operational partnerships.

This is particularly important in freight forwarding and customs operations, where choosing the right partner is about much more than price. Understanding how a potential partner communicates, solves problems, and handles operational challenges can be just as important as the services they offer.

The main benefits of attending logistics exhibitions can be grouped into three areas:

  1. Direct customer acquisition: Trade shows bring shippers, freight forwarders, carriers, procurement teams, and supply chain professionals together in one place. With good preparation, conversations that might otherwise take weeks can happen within a few days. Instead of simply presenting your services, focus on the problems you solve—whether through better transit times, competitive costs, route expertise, or operational flexibility.
  2. Market exploration: Logistics changes constantly. New trade corridors emerge, customs requirements evolve, and regional opportunities shift. Exhibitions provide a good opportunity to hear directly from companies operating in those markets and identify routes or regions with growing demand.
  3. Competitor analysis: Walking through an exhibition also gives you a clear picture of what competitors are promoting, which markets they are targeting, and where they are investing. Look beyond pricing—the more important differences are often service quality, operational capabilities, technology, and specialization.

How to Get Real Value from a Logistics Exhibition Visit

A logistics exhibition should start with a list of operational problems, not a list of exhibitors. Before attending, ask your operations team where they are struggling: perhaps they cannot find reliable hauliers for last-mile deliveries in Germany, need a customs broker who can handle complicated UK transit movements, or regularly face delays securing equipment for certain trade lanes. Turn these problems into specific meetings. Instead of asking an overseas agent what services they offer, give them a real shipment scenario: “We have three weekly groupage shipments from Istanbul to Birmingham. Can you handle customs clearance, delivery appointments and POD collection, and what happens if the truck misses its delivery slot?” Their answers will tell you far more than their brochures.

Don’t overlook technology providers, airlines and ocean carriers either. A software provider might demonstrate how to automate a process your team still handles manually. Customs declarations such as NCTS and ENS are a common candidate: Customs Management, for example, pre-fills them from your documents. A carrier’s updated customer portal, meanwhile, might offer instant rates, online bookings, digital documentation or automated shipment updates that your team has never explored. Ask for live demonstrations using your actual operational scenarios, not generic sales presentations.

After the exhibition, share the findings with your colleagues, shortlist promising solutions and partners, and test them in daily operations. The value of attending is not how many business cards you collect, but how many operational problems you can solve afterward.

Sıkça Sorulan Sorular

Which logistics exhibition is best for freight forwarders?

Transport Logistic in Munich is the broadest choice, covering air, sea, rail and road with carriers, freight forwarders and technology providers under one roof. For the Turkish market, LogiTrans in Istanbul is the main event, and for the UK market, Multimodal in Birmingham.

How often is Transport Logistic held?

Every two years. The Munich edition runs in odd-numbered years, alternating with the China edition in Shanghai, so the next Munich edition is in 2027.

When is LogiTrans Istanbul?

LogiTrans is organised every year, mostly in November. The 2026 edition runs on 11–13 November in Istanbul. Modaltrans will be there.

Which exhibition is best for air cargo?

Air Cargo Europe in Munich. It is organised every two years, in odd-numbered years, so the next edition is in 2027.

Which exhibition is best for warehouse automation?

LogiMAT in Stuttgart, held annually and mostly in March, and MODEX in Atlanta, held every two years in even-numbered years. The last MODEX was in April 2026.

How should I prepare for a logistics exhibition?

Start with a list of operational problems, not a list of exhibitors. Turn each problem into a specific meeting, and give agents and suppliers a real shipment scenario instead of asking what services they offer. Ask technology providers for live demonstrations using your own scenarios. Afterwards, share your findings with your team and test the shortlisted solutions in daily operations.
